hi, i havent spent that much time with asterisk lately, but still wanted to gather information on how to initiate a call: 1) fact what i know which is possible: - via call-file - via (sip)-client - AGI 2) desired - URL --> is this possbile? 3) others --> whats missing here? thx
#2 is possible through AMI/ajax interface. See voip-info.org. #3 is pretty much covered by AMI. Anyway you can think of not mentioned in #1 or #2 would (IMO) probably include AMI usage. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of tom Sent: Tuesday, February 09, 2010 12:49 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: [asterisk-users] ways of initiating a call hi, i havent spent that much time with asterisk lately, but still wanted to gather information on how to initiate a call: 1) fact what i know which is possible: - via call-file - via (sip)-client - AGI 2) desired - URL --> is this possbile? 3) others --> whats missing here? thx -- _____________________________________________________________________ -- Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com -- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Surely you can use System() or whatever from inside the dialplan. But the fact that you raied it suggests you don't really understand what it's up here.> > 2) desired > - URL > --> is this possbile? > > > > 3) others > --> whats missing here? The manager interface as well. But please provide more details on your use case: Originate calls from where to where? From what device to which destination? How arbitrary are both? Should the user be allowed to control one of them? Both? -- Tzafrir Cohen icq#16849755 jabber:tzafrir.cohen at xorcom.com +972-50-7952406 mailto:tzafrir.cohen at xorcom.com http://www.xorcom.com iax:guest at local.xorcom.com/tzafrir
