Why do I see many setups where there is an Asterisk server in combination with a SIP-server like OpenSER or Kamailio ? Isn't Asterisk enough as SIP-server ?? It can communicate with many databases through ODBC, with many other software through an API (AGI), with other servers like OpenFire for jabber,... Why is there an extra SIP server implemented at many VoIP-providers ?? Jonas. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I like to "front" Asterisk because it lets me "load balance" and take an Asterisk server out of production without disrupting calls in progress.
