[Asterisk-Users] FCC VoIP wiretap ruling challenged
For providers operating with either american customers and/or in america they may want to read this and possibly support one or more of the groups that are fighting this. Either by writing letters in support or financially (EFF at least is nonprofit, dont know about CDTs legal status). http://www.infoworld.com/article/05/10/25/HNfccvoip_1.html A group of privacy advocates and technology companies on Tuesday filed court papers to challenge a ruling by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), saying it overstepped its authority by requiring VOIP (voice over Internet Protocol) providers to allow wiretapping by law enforcement agencies. -- Trixter http://www.0xdecafbad.com Bret McDanel UK +44 870 340 4605 Germany +49 801 777 555 3402 US +1 360 207 0479 or +1 516 687 5200 FreeWorldDialup: 635378 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Try Voice Over Ethernet. Asterisk cannot do that since it only supports Voice Over IP.
