[Asterisk-Users] How does the g.729 registration program work?
I'm asking because I'm planning to install multiple machines from the same image and I need to know what file(s) I need to backup/restore to make sure I don't lose my licences in the process. The only options I can think of are: - There's a config file, though I've seen no mention of it - The actual binary shared library is modified - The system contacts Digium every time you start asterisk In the last case nothing is changed at all and I'm fine. You will not be able to share your licenses between machines. You will need to buy licenses for each machine you deploy on. -- Steven Critchfield <critch@basesys.com>

The point is I build them from images and every now and then I roll out a new image. My question is, what do I need to preserve from the previous image to keep the licences. Obviously reformatting the disk and reregistering is not going to work. So what will??? Thanks in advance, -- Martijn van Oosterhout Ecomtel Pty Ltd

You replied to a message in the "How does the g.729 registration program work" thread, written by Kristian Kielhofner. Your message has nothing to do with the message you responded to. Next. You need to provide critical information such as what version of asterisk you are using. If it is from CVS, you MUST provide the date it was last updated. Most likely you are running an old version that had a memory leak with variables not being freed properly. I say that because the first message above looks like you have run out of ram and swap. -- Steven Critchfield <critch@basesys.com>
