asterisk users - Feb 2005 - Asterisk Performance in comparission of SER

How much can be the load (How much register and calls Asterisk can Handle
simultaneously by asterisk) and what will be the performance of Asterisk (Call
Quality) if all the users are on SIP only and uses same Codec, I have all three
codecs loaded G.711, G.723, G.729) without media support i.e.
("canreinvite=yes"),

There is a page about this on the wiki.

I've heard from real-world sources that you get about 60-70 G729->PSTN
calls
on a dual 3.6Ghz Xeon Dell.

Since SER doesn't handle the media at all, its theoretical limit is around
5000.
