[Asterisk-Users] IAX2 - Voice Pulse - slow choppy audio
Hello all; I have an account with voicepulse. When making outbound calls the sound is great. The inbound calls to asterisk ivr are another story. The audio is choppy at best and plays slow like a 45 rpm record at 33 1/3 rpm (yes showing my age here) the following are, i think, the important parts of iax.conf. I saw something about this in the users-list but can not find it, probably using wrong search criteria. Can any one please help. John M IAX.CONF snips [general] bindport=4569 bindaddr=192.168.1.5 ; Behind nat/firewall bandwidth=low disallow=all allow=gsm allow=ulaw allow=ilbc allow=adpcm allow=alaw jitterbuffer=no register => xxxxxxxxx:xxxxxxxxxxxx@gwiax-in-01.voicepulse.com tos=lowdelay [voicepulse-in-01] type=user contex=voicepulseauth=rsa inkeys=voicepulse01 notransfer=yes trunk=yes context=voicepulse

That should clear up your problem right away.Turned on Jitterbuffer as follows and still same problem. these are the defaults in iax.conf sample. Do i need to change somthing, more maxbuffer, less minbuffer ... ? jitterbuffer=yes dropcount=2 maxjitterbuffer=500 maxexcessbuffer=80 minexcessbuffer=10 jittershrinkrate=1> > ______________________________________________________________________

Lazily top posting to my question, the problem seems to have been caused by low bandwidth at my end. thanks to David anyway On Fri, 2004-10-01 at 14:59, John Millican wrote:> On Fri, 2004-10-01 at 14:49, David McNett wrote: > > On Oct 1, 2004, at 1:27 PM, John Millican wrote: > > > I have an account with voicepulse. Some of the calls I get need a 750 sized jitter buffer. However, if it gets that bad you need to look at the route the call is making and maybe choose a provider with less lag. It is also essential that your provider is using a recent version of *. Chris
