I am having serious issues with RH9 when it comes to speed. It may just be gnome or kde but it is slow launching apps. Does anyone know if Asterisk will compile under other distros. Many people are recommending http://www.gentoo.org/ and I am considering it. What is it about RH9 thats different when compiling Asterisk? It is highly recommended that asterisk be run on a server without X. -- Scanned for viruses and dangerous content at http://www.oneunified.net and is believed to be clean.
Not a good idea to run any X stuff at all on an Asterisk box under any distro. Haven't had any problems here running Asterisk on RH7.3, 8.0, and 9. -wade> -----Original Message----- > From: costas [mailto:costas@meezon.com] > Sent: Tuesday, October 21, 2003 9:05 PM > To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com > Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Asterisk with Gentoo > > I am having serious issues with RH9 when it comes to speed.
