Licensing info for the G723.1 codec, direct from the holding company that licenses the codec. http://www.dspg.com/technology/LicensePricing.html As you can see they want a LOT of money. This is why I doubt there will ever be G.723.1 codec available fro Asterisk. -- BTEL Consulting 850-484-4535 x2111 (Office) 504-595-3916 x2111 (Experimental) 877-552-0838 (Backup Phone)

[Asterisk-Users] X-Lite - No sound + chan_sip issue
Hi, X-Lite logs into * with no problems. I dial "1000" and * plays greeting, but i can not hear it. Tried many times with the same result. After quite few tries * complains about: ------------------------------------------------- WARNING[81926]: File chan_sip.c, Line 388 (retrans_pkt): Maximum retries exceeded on call FBD1EC34-9FD3-4855-9DC1-97933EE0F5F3@192.168.1.104 for seqno 43 (Response) WARNING[81926]: File chan_sip.c, Line 2002 (__transmit_response): Unable to determine sequence number from '' ------------------------------------------------- Has anyone had the same problem? I wonder if by chance they could make a deal with digium so that asterisk users can buy the 723.1 codec but they wouldn't have to spend the large upfront $$ to get going. Something like this: from X number of lic. to X number of lic. Digium gets 20%/DSPG gets 80% of the sale. Then once they hit a point it would drop to 40/60 then 60/40 till its paid for. Its only going to benefit DSPG to have their codec in more products and provide better flexability in asterisk. If products don't support 723.1(cisco ATA's do) and say cisco sees that nobody is using it then why keep including it and they drop support for it in their ATA and other voip products thus causing DPSG to loose revenue. Just an idea. In this day any income is better than no-income. bkw On Wed, 6 Aug 2003, Eric Wieling wrote:> Licensing info for the G723.1 codec, direct from the holding company > that licenses the codec. > > http://www.dspg.com/technology/LicensePricing.html > > As you can see they want a LOT of money.
