As far as I can see only one of the new phones support H323 and none of them support SIP or MGCP. Jeez .. why not sip? Kinda defeats the purpose of a cheap, streamlined phone if it runs a bloated protocol like h323.. -d At 12:27 PM 4/28/2003 -0500, you wrote:>As far as I can see only one of the new phones support H323 and none of >them support SIP or MGCP. > >On Mon, 2003-04-28 at 12:20, Patrick wrote: > > On Mon, 2003-04-28 at 18:10, Steven Critchfield wrote: > > > Anyone know what model and what support the new $100 Cisco has? > > > > > > http://biz.yahoo.com/djus/030428/1030001060_1.html > > > > Think you have to follow the Top Story link at cisco.com main page > > > > 7902G - $130 > > 7905G - $165 > > > > http://newsroom.cisco.com/dlls/ip_phone_pricing_sheet.pdf > > > > Regards, > > Patrick > > > > _______________________________________________ > > Asterisk-Users mailing list > > Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com > > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users >-- >BTEL Consulting >850-484-4535 x2111 (Office) >504-595-3916 x2111 (Experimental) >877-552-0838 (Backup Phone) > >_______________________________________________ >Asterisk-Users mailing list >Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com >http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Is it just me, or has Cisco's foray into the consumer market resulted in a bunch of absolute crap hardware that everyone continues to think is just great due to the cisco name ? I have had experience with several of their adsl routers and they suck bigtime. 1) the power supplies catch fire - yes cisco admitted that. 2) the adsl modem locks up all the time and requires a power cycle to fix (I guess they don't know what a watchdog timer is for) - real handy at 2am when no one is around. 3) the resync cycle on a poor line can cause more than 50% downtime during resyncs even when the line only had a little spike on it. Sounds like their latest voip offerings are more of the same garbage. When the rackmount form factor went away so did the expectation the box would function I guess. Just got word from my Cisco rep. He informs me, that version 2, out this summer, will support SIP. Yeah!
