Has anyone looked into or used these? http://www.pingtel.com/pr_xpressa.jsp They look and sound compatible... Ben
Yes, I've been using them. They are compatible with asterisk - although I am only playing around in our lab, I haven't tried to setup a live system with them. -----Original Message----- From: Benjamin J. I don't suppose you know of anywhere that sells them at lower prices than the 599 quoted on the Pingtel site? Does anybody know of a 4 port FXS card which is compatible with asterisk? David
I don't know, I wasn't involved in the purchase of ours. I assume we got them direct from Pingtel. IIRC you can download a 30-day trial of their softphone if you want to test the asterisk compatibility before buying the real thing. Phil. -----Original Message----- From: Benjamin J. Be careful with Pingtel. They are sip, but they like to do things their own way. Check the FAQ on Digium site regarding inband vs OOB DTMF. I know there are patches that are supposed to squelch in band DTMF for SIP, but I have not seen it work yet. If anybody buys this FXS to FXO converter and gets it to work with Asterisk, please let us know how it goes. I may try it one of these days myself. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com]On Behalf Of Jon Pounder Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 2:10 PM To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] 4 port FXS card At 02:43 PM 3/27/2003 -0600, you wrote:> > Will to ports on this card be able to act as FXO as well, or just asFXS?>Maybe later. >But there was some posting about "FXS to FXO converter" a few weeks before >.... ???That is a separate device that works with any FXS port from my understanding of it.
