[Asterisk-Users] NAT Troubles (SIP) - 407 Proxy Authentication Required?
I'd like to thank you all for the work that has been done on NAT SIP support in Asterisk recently. This is truly the sort of project that proves the strengths of open source development. I noticed that there were a few people who had NAT SIP working (ATA 186 inside NAT, Asterisk with public IP), but I for some reason cannot get my ATA186 to register with my Asterisk box if they are behind NAT (system updated to match CVS just minutes ago (Tuesday afternoon)). Here is what my console tells me when the ATA186 tries to register: (Log attached) For some reason, this 407 Proxy Authentication Required seems to be getting in the way... Any ideas? The UID and PW are fine in the 186 (it works great when it isn't behind NAT). Thanks again for all the great support! -- Matthew Farley <asterisk@wheatstate.net> -------------- next part -------------- 9 headers, 0 lines Using latest request as basis request Sending to 192.168.1.91 : 5060 (NAT) Transmitting (NAT): SIP/2.0 100 Trying Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.1.91;received=208.222.40.6:61056 From: <sip:3115002@208.222.40.225;user=phone> To: <sip:3115002@208.222.40.225;user=phone>;tag=15c6a2f7 Call-ID: 191809183@192.168.1.91 CSeq: 1 REGISTER User-Agent: Asterisk PBX Contact: <sip:3115002@208.222.40.225;user=phone> Content-Length: 0 to 208.222.40.6:61056 Transmitting (NAT): SIP/2.0 407 Proxy Authentication Required Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.1.91;received=208.222.40.6:61056 From: <sip:3115002@208.222.40.225;user=phone> To: <sip:3115002@208.222.40.225;user=phone>;tag=15c6a2f7 Call-ID: 191809183@192.168.1.91 CSeq: 1 REGISTER User-Agent: Asterisk PBX Contact: <sip:3115002@208.222.40.225;user=phone> Proxy-Authenticate: Digest realm="asterisk", nonce="2262469d" Content-Length: 0 to 208.222.40.6:61056 central2*CLI>

Figured it was something wrong with the phones seeing how they are cheapies ($149 new). Maybe not. Raymond McKay
