I think this may be simple; I think maybe it also ought to be a FAQ. . . My current setup for incoming calls involves Asterisk answering the line, ringing simultaneously a couple of extensions, and then going to voicemail if nobody picks up. I'm trying to figure out where in that scenario I should stick the interaction for *me* to come in (from some arbitrary place) and get my voicemail. What I *think* I want to do is allow the remote party to interrupt the outgoing voicemail message with some tones that would go immediately into the voicemail main "verbal screen." I can't figure out how to do that. . . . Thanks for any help that might be forthcoming. B.
I'm not quite sure I follow you, but if I do, all you need to do is add an extension in that context for VoiceMailMain. Like so: exten => 100,1,VoicemailMain Then when you dial 100 from anywhere, you get the prompts .. or you can pass your mailbox to it as an argument, and only need to enter your password. *snip from email* For example: exten => 442,1,Dial,Zap/4r4|30|t "Riing .. riiing .. " exten => 442,2,Background,reachedvoicemail "You have reached the voicemail of .. " exten => 442,3,Background,scott "Scott" exten => 442,4,Background,withmarketing "With the marketing group" exten => 442,5,Background,vm-intro "Please leave a message after the tone, when done..." exten => 442,6,Voicemail,s7032 "beep."
