[Asterisk-Users] Anyone working on "Enter the first three letters of the first name"
Anyone working on "Enter the first three letters of the first name for that users voice mail box."? Or found a good way to emulate this feature? Thanks.

It's the "Directory" application and reads its info from /etc/asterisk/voicemail.conf. It takes one argument which is the context in which to interpret the calls. app_directory can do something like this. I believe its only for last name, but you could either modify the code or do what we had to do on an old nortel system (just reverse the first and last names) James On Fri, 14 Feb 2003, James Sizemore wrote:> Anyone working on "Enter the first three letters of the first name for > that users voice mail box."? > Or found a good way to emulate this feature? > > Thanks. > > _______________________________________________ > Asterisk-Users mailing list > Asterisk-Users at lists.digium.com > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users >

actually I was working on some mods to it. I want to have it just wait till enough unique letters are entered. I could have it set a lower limit at 3 to eliminate guessing but often 3 letters of either first or last name are not enough, but it is awkward to set say 8 as the minimum to guarantee uniqueness. working from first or last name should be a minor change At 01:44 PM 2/16/2003 -0600, you wrote:>It's the "Directory" application and reads its info from >/etc/asterisk/voicemail.conf.
