Hello R users,
Thank you very much to those who responded so quickly and helpfully to my
question about update.packages() and Windows 2000. I am grateful to Thomas
Lumley, Jason Turner, Prof Brian D Ripley, Uwe Ligges and Andy Liaw (at least).
The solution was simply to use internet2.dll rather than internet.dll. I'm
sorry I didn't spot this in the documentation. Thank you again. As already
stated (by me and by others) this feature is very useful and the contributors
deserve much congratulations.
