Is Sun working on OS-neutral general features of Xen, or only on making whatever changes to Xen and Solaris that are necessary to make the two work together? This message posted from opensolaris.org

[xen-discuss] Which parts of Xen is Sun working on?

A small change was made to Xen during the 2.0 port, relating to the elf loader, but I''m not aware of anything else. Supporting a Solaris dom0 requires some work on the Xen tools to properly integrate with Solaris device management, etc., so that will obviously happen. Beyond the basic domU/dom0 port we are interested in a variety of areas, some of which would include changes to Xen, including improved network performance, improved fault management and isolation, etc. dme. -- David Edmondson, Solaris Engineering, Sun Microsystems.
