Xen devel - Oct 2005 - Why change from notify_via_evtchn to notify_remote_via_irq?

I noticed this change in the latest changeset. Any reason for doing this?
Notify_via_evtchn seems to work fine for me.

To avoid a race between notifications from frontend drivers against 
xenbus notifying them the backend has disconnected after a 
save/restore.
