After starting xend the eth0 interface loose its ip address. Well, i can set it with ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.nnn and all works fine. But must that be? Is this normal? Is this normal? Before your start xend, run ''ifdown eth0 ; ifup eth0'' to check your distro''s network scripts are set up correctly. Are you using the with xen shipped default scripts for network setup ? This script hasn''t worked for me. Inside the script (network-bridge) are two command lines which make a grep over ifconfig for getting the MAC-Address of the NIC. The Problem is, that my Version of ifconfig title them with "Hardware Address" instead of "HWaddr". Maybe you have the same Problem. This is likely to make it more robust, particularly if we put "export LANG=C" at the top of the script to cope with non English language setups better. Please could someone knock up a patch?
