Xen devel - Jun 2007 - error compiling xen

I was building xen from source. I gave
make world
but after a while 
compilation stopped with some errors:

cc1: error: invalid option 
`tune=generic''
cc1: error: unrecognized option `-fstack-protector''
cc1: 
error: invalid parameter `ssp-buffer-size''
error: command ''gcc'' failed 
with exit status 1
make[3]: *** [build] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving

my gcc 
is up to date. I gave yum install gcc before running installation of 
xen.
 What can I do now?

That should be -fno-stack-protector i guess.

And all rest of the error messages suggest so.
CFLAGS are messed up i guess.
Try fixing them, may help.
