Gluster users - Nov 2008 - start client as a user

Hi
Is it possible to start a glusterfs client as a user?
If yes, how it can be done?  
Currently I receive the following error
2008-11-07 16:02:20 E [glusterfs.c:547:main] glusterfs: Initializing FUSE failed
2008-11-07 16:03:02 E [fuse-bridge.c:2699:init] glusterfs-fuse: fuse_mount
failed (Permission denied)

Make sure you have write permission on /dev/fuse and that you own the
mount point directory, and that you use user/password authentication,
not IP-based authentication.
