Even though build 28 isn''t due for a bit, I figured I''d send this list out before I disappear for Thanksgiving and unrelated vacation time. The following ZFS bugs have been fixed in build 28 of OpenSolaris: 6297285 znode prefetching in zfs_readdir causes 5x performance degradation for ''ls'' 6299353 chown(2) fails to clear SUID/SGID bits on ZFS. 6344546 zfs list -o trips after handling certain column headers. 6344559 zfs list -o , dumps core 6344651 LZ, ''zfs restore'', internal error: unexpected error 1 at line 2501 of ../common/libzfs_dataset.c 6344659 ''zfs restore -d <filesytem>'' not create ancestor fs as designed 6344681 chmod file_inherit should not added the specified ACE to new create subdirectores. 6344695 ''zfs restore'' return 0 while "Most recent snapshot does not match incremental backup source" 6345773 error messages from ''zfs restore'' should say "cannot" 6345826 must run ''zfs volfini'' to ''zfs restore'' incremental backup of zvol 6345875 The zfs "sharenfs" option fails after an alternate-root mount, until reboot 6346724 The ZFS GUI implies that compression is turned ''on'' for a pool when it is actually ''off''. 6347134 zfs_zaccess() is killing ZFS stat() performance 6347421 Trying to set volblocksize on existing volume gives an unexpected error 6347448 non ZFS_DEBUG kernels shouldn''t call empty verify functions 6347492 snapshots should not pretend to have real properties 6347493 tar of 25K empty directory entries in ZFS takes 30+ seconds of system time on 2GHz amd64 6348089 panic in dbuf_remove_ref 6348240 zfs set aclinherit error message incorrect 6348409 ''zfs rename'' process hangs after assigning a very long name(>256) to the new target name 6348464 a few DMU object type macros are misnamed 6349502 fix for 6347493 breaks zfs on sparc 6349703 "origin" property not set for cloned volumes In addition, the ZFS GUI will be available as part of SX:CR build 28, though the associated source code is not part of OpenSolaris yet. I''ll try to keep regular build reports for the first few months of ZFS. Once the initial activity dies down, I''ll only ping the list when major features go back. Of course, this may all become an excercise in futility once the source drops appear on a daily basis, and the community at large can get real-time putback notices. Hopefully some will find it useful in the interim, however. Thanks, and please file bugs early and often! - Eric -- Eric Schrock, Solaris Kernel Development http://blogs.sun.com/eschrock
