[zfs-discuss] Is it possible to install zfs on Solaris 10 x86_64
I have seen comments on some of the blogs about zfs being used on Solaris 10 based computers and Sun also hypes it for Solaris 10 - But I have yet to find it available. I have been testing on my snv_27 installation and would like to do some tests on Sun''s released version of Solaris. The SUNWzfsr and SUNWzfsu packages from snv_27 did install without complaints on Solaris 10, but I''m sure there are other packages that are needed to configure the io devices. Can anyone direct me as to how/what? This message posted from opensolaris.org

There will be a version of zfs for Solaris 10; but in one of the next updates (not update 1).>The SUNWzfsr and SUNWzfsu packages from snv_27 did install without complaints on Solaris 10, but I''m sure there are other packages that are needed to configure the io devices. They might install without complaints, but I''m sure the devices will not load; some modifications to the kernel needed to be made (including bugs uncovered in the kernel while testing zfs). The only way to test zfs for now is to run Nevada build 27 or 28. Solaris 10 zfs support will be forthcoming but simply isn''t there yet. Casper
