Hi, I''m a computer engineering student from Portugal, and I would love to make a ZFS implementation for FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) for Linux (and FreeBSD). I know it would be cool to have a kernel-level implementation, but that would be too big of a project for me to work on my own. However, I''m fairly confident I would be able to do a mostly-complete implementation of ZFS on FUSE in my spare time. Is there a possibility to arrange a mentor for this project from ZFS/OpenSolaris? Thank you.

[zfs-discuss] ZFS on FUSE/Linux [Google Summer of Code 2006]
I''ve made an application draft for the project I''m proposing. This draft was made with the Gentoo Linux mentoring organization in mind, but of course, I''m much more interested in being assigned a mentor from ZFS/OpenSolaris itself :) You can read the draft in PDF format here: http://wizy.org/zfs-on-fuse.pdf Anyway, I''m not planning on being mentored too much, but it''s possible I will need some help understanding the ZFS code. Comments? :) On Monday 01 May 2006 05:58, Ricardo Correia wrote:> Hi, I''m a computer engineering student from Portugal, and I would love to > make a ZFS implementation for FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) for Linux > (and FreeBSD).
