[zfs-crypto-discuss] Mercurial repository for zfs-crypto
First let me say I''m deeply sorry for the mail storm that seeding the new hg/zfs-crypto/gate repository caused. An explanation of what happened and why can be found on my blog: http://blogs.sun.com/darren/entry/sorry_mercurial_hg_push_oops There is also a discussion going on in the tools community on how to ensure this doesn''t happen again: http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=17947&tstart=0 - ------------------------------------------------------------------ Now for the good news part! I''ve created a Mercurial repository that is as of now loaded with ONNV as of yesterday and also includes all of the work I''ve done so far on adding crypto to ZFS. What is in there is NOT usable yet but I have successfully encrypted and decrypted with a previous slightly different version of this. I''ve started down the path of removing the hard coded key and adding proper key management functionality for key from password and key from a hardware token. Hopefully now that it is in a Mercurial repository some of you may be able to help by contributing code. You can get a copy of the repository anonymously like this: $ hg clone anon at hg.opensolaris.org/hg/zfs-crypto/gate More information including how to pull/push using user own account can be found in the tools community: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/tools/scm/hg_help/ At present only those people listed as project leaders can commit, but if someone has something to commit please let me know and I will enable commit access for you. -- Darren J Moffat
