Hi there, my name is Sebastian Dziallas and I would like to contribute to the CentOS Wiki. I thought a bit about what I could do and I think I would like to help translating the wiki in other languages. I speak English, German and also French. My UserName is - what a surprise - SebastianDziallas. On the HowToContribute-Page you said that I should know where to put the articles. As you proposed on the MultiLingualWiki-Page, pages with the prefixes /de/ and /fr/ should be fine. Wait for Ralph to chime in for an authoritive reply, but I think there are a couple of things that still need to be sorted out: - Hierarchical ACLs. - Page markers that we'll want to add to pages. - Handling of untranslated pages that are in the "English subspace" (there's a Moin plugin for this in the Wiki). - How we are going to present translated pages to a user, especially when just a few pages are translated. Maybe it would be nice if an English page shows a pull-down or flags if a translation is available. - A policy (e.g., do we *only* allow translations of English pages to maintain consistency). -- Daniel
Hi Ralph, I don't know whether someone has translated something yet, so that I need to know which languages are needed. I could for example start with the repository page and go on with the pages belonging to it (RPMForge, CentOSPlus,...). And I need to search a translation for "Upstream Service Provider"... If you're willing to do this in french I would create that page for you. If it's good (probably some native french speaker should take a look at that) we can see about the other pages - and linking to those from somewhere :) Thanks for offering your help! Hi Ralph, could you please create a french repositories page for me? Then, I will start translating it.
