Merging 2 contribute pages
Hi,
I have merged the HowToContribute and Contribute pages onto the
Contribute link. But the tab on the top points to HowToContribute, while
the link on the first page references the Contribute page.
Is it possible to link the Contribute tab on the top to the Contribute
page instead and then remove the HowToContribute page ?
I now...

CentOS Wiki: Contribute permission request
Dear Sir or Madam,
According to the policy described in http://wiki.centos.org/HowToContribute
and after receiving the attached email from Ralph Angenendt
<ra+centos at br-online.de>, I respectifully request permission to post
a "How to contribute RPMs to the CentOS Project" document; the basic
text is currently at http://durval.com.br/CentOS_RPM_Contrib_HowTo.html

Structure for Contribution Pages
Hi Guys,
While updating es/ pages, noted that actually there are two Contribute
pages. One in Contribute and other in HowToContribute.
I wonder if we could reorganize that a bit. Maybe separate
contribution needs by SIGs. Then create a Contribution index page
where all those SIG's contribution pages be linked from ? It may be
needed to create some SIGs in those areas where they don't exist.
At this moment (and at least...

problem "disconnected: No supported authentication methods available"
Hi there,
I encountered that message when try to login to ssh via putty, this happened after implement what have been said in this article http://wiki.centos.org/Contribute?action=show&redirect=HowToContribute except the "DSA PRIVATE KEY" step and I'm sure that's the reason.
so please if there is any way to fix that, or the only solution is to ask the host for that.

modern-CentOS-1.7-12
Hi Ralph,
Could you install 1.7-12 please, it includes:
- some message styles.
- make body top and bottom 0px.
If it can't be installed on wiki.centos.org could you give me write
access on wiki-m.centos.org/ArtWork/Wiki page to show the message
style proposition ?
Cheers,
al.

modern-CentOS-1.7-2
Hi,
the layout on wiki-m.centos.org looks pretty convincing to me, now.
Two things:
<http://people.centos.org/~ralph/pagetrail.png> - the pagetrail stuff
isn't readable at all.
I propose the following patch to screen.css:

OpenSSL binary compatibility between CentOS 4 and 5
...gnificant?)
We will probably want to roll our own compat-openssl packages to provide the
relevant libssl and libcrypto .so files, using e.g. compat-openldap as an
example. Is this something we could contribute? It doesn't seem to exist yet
in any repositories linked from
http://wiki.centos.org/HowToContribute/Packages.
Assuming it makes sense to contribute this, we'd want to do it right. Could
anyone outline steps to make the packages secure and compatible? For
example, is it sufficient to roll up the .so files from the CentOS
4.xopenssl packages into rpms and add Requires tags for .so files from

CentOS Wiki
...name is Sebastian Dziallas and I would like to contribute to the CentOS
Wiki.
I thought a bit about what I could do and I think I would like to help
translating the wiki in other languages.
I speak English, German and also French.
My UserName is - what a surprise - SebastianDziallas.
On the HowToContribute-Page you said that I should know where to put the
articles.
As you proposed on the MultiLingualWiki-Page, pages with the prefixes /de/
and /fr/ should be fine.
Best Regards,
Sebastian Dziallas

Opening of the wiki Part III(?) ...

b) While doing so I have changed the Guidelines page for the wiki.
Please review that page and add to the "Guidelines concerning Wiki

<http://wiki-m.centos.org/HowToContribute/EditingCentOSWiki>
c) So there will be an alias "wikiteam AT centos.org" to which
submissions for new accounts will go to. The people on the editorial
team for the wiki will get mails for that alias, so they can add the
person requiring access to EditGroup.

Request permission to edit/create new entries for FreeNX and YUMEX
Hi people
I will like to ask for the permission to rewrite the current FreeNX article. The current article is lacking in the information on how to add accounts to the nxserver on centos. I think it will be very difficult for linux newbies to understand how to read that article. I am a newbie too so I can understand the frustration when you can't find an appropriate HowTo article.

USB keys
Well, we wanted to put an install on a USB key. Neither I nor the other
admin was amused by the singing and dancing that the wiki offers - and
just *why* is it that syslinux is broken?
At any rate, I did some googling, and found
<http://www.pendrivelinux.com/>, and I ran this installer.
Ok, it has some bugs: a) I had several .isos, and it *insisted* on
grabbing the first one,

iptables article for Wiki
Hi List,
I have been asked in this thread if I would contribute an article on
iptables to the Wiki:
http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=10240&forum=37
The article would be based on a tutorial I have previously written here:
http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=432469
I'm not sure where the article should best go so leave that to your
discretion. If you

Request for wiki editing policy change...
...e subject in the
first place) but pretty savvy about wikis.
I got an account (Jen.RM) with the wiki thinking that would let me
edit a writeup that was broken. Then I clicked on the contribute tab
thinking that maybe someone had renamed "edit" and I ended up here:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowToContribute
Having run wikis and had significant trouble with spam I understand
the inclination to not let random people edit the wiki, but once
you've verified "this is an actual person" it seems silly to me to to
introduce any further editing controls. The distance between "ANYONE

Re: CentOS-docs Digest, Vol 13, Issue 2
HI! Friends,
I have recently shared my experiences while installing CentOS using a single
CD, then creating XEN VMs and sharing YUM repositories and stuff at my blog,
http://mytechrantings.blogspot.com/2007/08/centos-5-selinux-xen-squid-yum-cache.html
But
as per feedback I realized that it was to chaotic and full of ramblings and
was suggested to write some how tos.

everywhere they are able to.
About the mailing list: It's not only for contributing to the wiki, but
also for discussing about articles (i.e. article quality) on the wiki -
and possibly also for discussion about general CentOS documentation.
We'll see.
See <http://wiki.centos.org/HowToContribute> for more information.
Thanks for letting me interrupt your reading of other fine mails on this
list.
