Yes, provided 'company.com' isn't a registered domain name and the
domain isn't connected to the outside world.
However, as soon as you get your new AD domain up and running and know
everything is working okay, I would add another DC and then demote the
first DC. PDC is not a good name for an AD DC ;-)
