  The candidate will be part of JUNOS Core kernel team. JUNOS? Software is a
single network operating system integrating routing, switching, security, and

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop and debug core OS and kernel networking features for JUNOS.

- Work on high availability features.

- Support customer deployments and escalations.

- Work on sustaining existing kernel networking and core OS features.

- Analyze, debug and fix kernel crash dumps and defects.



Qualifications and Experience:

- 8-10 years of software development experience in the networking field is
required

- Good C programming language, system design and debugging skills are a
requirement.

- Experience in UNIX/FreeBSD/Linux kernel is a must.

- Good understanding of SMP is desired.

- Working knowledge of routing protocols, ethernet switching, packet forwarding
is also desired.

- BS/MS in CS/CE or similar field is required.

- Good communication skills and team player is required.

Software Engineer, Sr Staff - Firmware Security


Join the high-energy Junos Software Security Team in our mission to harden and
enhance the resiliency of Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls. We seek a
senior software/firmware engineer who is passionate about and professionally
committed to system security development.


We seek a world-class BIOS security expert.


The winning candidate will take a leading role in ensuring the resiliency and
integrity of Juniper's boot firmware for the Junos OS and embedded
Linux-based systems, so all security requirements are fulfilled.


Lead the development of BIOS and boot firmware for the next generation of
Juniper devices. Implement secure boot and measured boot to exceed industry best
practice. Ensure that BIOS and boot firmware is free of obvious vulnerabilities,
unnecessary functionality, and dangerous defaults -- the winning implementations
will be resistant to adversaries with a high attack potential. Review boot
firmware for shipping products, and recommend security enhancements and
workarounds as appropriate. Develop countermeasures against attacks that abuse
the System Management Mode (SMM) on Intel platforms. Ensure the smooth delivery
of boot firmware into manufacturing and the Juniper customer base. Engage with
BIOS suppliers, diverse product teams, and -- when necessary -- executive and
customers audiences that need to understand the importance of boot security.
Actively participate in open source and standards communities in support of
Juniper's interests and the security interests of the broader Internet
community. Engagement with one or more of the following is expected: the Trusted
Computing Group (TCG), the UEFI standard, GRUB2, u-boot, Core Boot, or the IETF.


Qualifications

* Extensive experience developing BIOS firmware is a requirement.

* Advanced C and real-time programming skills; knowledge of secure boot methods

* Familiarity with networking concepts and routing protocols is a plus

* Must be a self-motivated team player with a demonstrated record of delivery --
this is a Total Commitment role, with corresponding compensation and reward
