LARTC - Jan 2004 - TC rule numbering

Hello list, 

    I''m developing an application that needs to number the TC rule 
    (and keep it in a internal array table) to be possibly deleted later 
    if its needed. 

    I didn''t find a easy way to do that and will be thankful if
somebody
    can help me. 

    Sorry if the question has a simple answer ... I''m a beginner
    in TC ... :-)

Do I can specify a handle or it is generated automatically by TC ?
The main idea is let the application control these numbers instead
of check the TC rule table ...
