This was first posted on Github, but it''s not really a bug report, so... Currently the asset pipeline only has YUI as option for CSS compression, which uses the yui-compressor gem which requires Java. I have ported <https://github.com/matthiassiegel/cssmin> YUI''s CSS engine to Ruby and released it as a gem<https://github.com/matthiassiegel/cssminify>. Performance looks the same, so this might be a way to simplify things and lose Java dependencies. Any thoughts?
