Rails spinoffs - Mar 2007 - :confirm dialog box is invoking my table row links!

I''ve got a bunch of table rows consisting of the onclick method:
<td onclick="document.location = ''<%= student_path(student)
%>'';"><%student.last_name %></td>

And when I delete one of these objects with the :confirm box by
clicking "ok", it deletes the object(which is good) but then invokes
the show method on one of the other table row objects that exists
right behind.

Anyone know of a quick fix to this minute problem? (P.S. I cannot
move
the objects.)

I''ll bet that''s an IE issue, which may use numerical indexes
internally
for its table row references ;-)

At any rate, that''s because you let the event move on instead of
stopping it.

Now, since you use inline handler code (would you be interested in
reading about unobstrusive JS?), the event object won''t get
automatically passed to you.  So you need to fetch it on your own.

Untested, but try this in your handler (assuming you do have Prototype
loaded):

onclick="Event.stop(event || window.event); document.location =
''...'';"
