It''s time for me to order some books from Amazon. I figured now was a good time to order my own copy of the puppet book. When I searched for it at Amazon.ca, I found: http://www.amazon.ca/Pulling-Strings-Puppet-Automated-Administration/dp/1590599780/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207168805&sr=1-1 Not only is it not available here, the one used copy is going for $117! James, you must have a classic on your hands :) I also found http://www.amazon.ca/Pulling-Strings-Puppet-Automated-Administration/dp/1430206225/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1207168805&sr=1-2 for pre-order, which is a bit weird too. First no iPhone and now no Puppet book. Another option is to purchase the book directly from the publisher. They have an ebook addition as well. I bought the ebook. The ebook is password protected via your email address but there is no nasty DRM that ties it to one computer. http://www.apress.com/book/view/1590599780 Kent On 02/04/2008, Gary Richardson <gary.richardson@gmail.com> wrote:> > It''s time for me to order some books from Amazon. Looks like all the reviews are that dead tree is still easier to read. That is the main reason I still get dead tree. :) Just now I recycle the old manulas when the new ones come out :) On Thu, Apr 3, 2008 at 9:07 AM, Duncan Hill <bajandude@googlemail.com> wrote:> > On 03/04/2008, Kenton Brede <kbrede@gmail.com> wrote: > > > > Another option is to purchase the book directly from the publisher. > > They have an ebook addition as well. I also like the fact that I can search for text within the book making it a nice reference. Normally I wouldn''t read, say a novel, on the computer screen, that''s what I use my ebook reader for. But mostly when I''m working with Puppet I''m on the computer and it''s nice to copy/paste and not deal with a book flopping around on my desk. If you haven''t tried an ebook you have to try it yourself to see if you like it. Like I said I wouldn''t purchase an novel in PDF format but a reference book I would, because it''s nice to search and copy/paste. A discount coupon would be nice for the guys who make his life on a devaluated currency (Argentina Pesos) Cheers!
