Unfortunately nobody has answered to my question about the channel mapping. :-( Are there any new ideas how save the channel mapping in multichannel vorbis streams? In addition it might be interessting thinking about using channel coupling for storing the same content in different langauges (because many things like background music are supposed to be the same). But there would be the same problem: how to indicate the the channel mapping. But I do my best. Any connection between different streams should logically be made on the OggStream level, so to speak "above" the vorbis format. Concerning storing different languages and different audiotracks together with, for example, Tarkin video, thus forming a DVD-like movie format, is DEFINATELY an OggStream concern. The current haste to get Vorbis 1.0 out the door has put OggStream and the Ogg multimedia project to the background for a moment I guess (the Xiph guys may answer this better than me) but there are definately plans for this kind of things, it only needs working on. There exists an application for intermingling Vorbis audio and MIDI data I think, so with this as a starting point you could try to build a convincing prototype of the features you want. I am sure we would all be happy to review them and add in comments. Hope this helps.
