Vorbis - Mar 2008 - problem with ac3?

i have backed up some dvd's with thoggen,
and on some the resulting sound track gets
distorted, especially from loud drums of rock
videos, producing what sounds like 'pops' as
on vinyl recordings. same problem with ffmpeg.
even converting the ac3's to wav first doesn't
help.

anyone else notice this, and is there any
work-around?

Your case sounds strange.  Try to increase the audio quality and see
if the problem remains.
