Dear Vorbis List, I have just joined this List. Thankyou to all the developers who have worked on this project it is wonderful. I am running SuSE 7.3 and the cdaudio ogg ripping works very well. I am now in the process of archiving my vinyl in ogg files. According to the SuSE manual this is done using the oggenc command but I get no such command to work. I have also tried ./oggenc. Any advice greatly appreciated. I have also tried ./oggenc.Make sure you have a package named "vorbis-tools" installed, among with all it depends on (namely libao, libogg and libvorbis, plus a few helper libraries, like curl and libiconv). I know SuSE has the Vorbis packages in their dist for quite a while already, so there shouldn't be a problem finding it. I recommend installing at least 1.0rc3, though. If SuSE 7.3 doesn't come with that version, fetch yourself the RPMs from www.vorbis.com or compile the tools yourself from the tar.gz packages. <p>Moritz --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. Simply use the entire path that find gave you when the manual says oggenc. If find returns more than one line, simply try them all until it works. I highly suggest you wait and get it, instead of rc3. You might as well wait until tommorow, though, because the download server will be packed. When you do get through to vorbis.com, get the rpms listed below, and install them in the given order. libogg libvorbis libao vorbis-tools Make sure they're all 1.0. Happy ogging!
