This usually happens when one of the nodes has the hostname defined to
be 127.0.0.1 in /etc/hosts.  If you see:

  127.0.0.1               localhost.localdomain localhost real.hostname

in your /etc/hosts, this will cause a problem.  Please make sure that
the real.hostname points to the real IP address.

If this does not resolve your issue, please let me know.

  I want to install Lustre on two 
machines(node6:172.26.6.62,node7:172.26.5.63) , which are connected by 
1000Mbps Tcp network , the node6 is used for mds and ost ,and node 7 is 
used for a client.
  I get the configuration file by using /usr/lib/lustre/example/uml.sh 
,which I have changed the ''uml*'' to fit my need:
  uml1,2(mds,ost) -> node6 , 
  uml3(client) -> client,and nid for client is ''*''
  
  And then ,I type the commands as below:

  node6# lconf --reformat --node node6 uml.xml 
  
  node7# lconf --node client uml.xml 
  
  Then the node7 report such error information as below:
    socknal_cb.c:2100:ksocknal_hello()  connected to nid 0x7f000001 but
