When I try to install the tinc RPM I am missing [root@relay buytaert]# rpm -vih tinc-1.0pre2-1.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: libgmp.so.2 is needed by tinc-1.0pre2-1 [root@relay buytaert]# ls /usr/lib/libgmp.so.3 /usr/lib/libgmp.so.3 [root@relay buytaert]# rpm -qf /usr/lib/libgmp.so.3 gmp-3.1.1-3 This seems to be a too recent version. So I tried compiling it and got the following error. I`m running a RedHat 7.0.91 Wolverine dist [root@relay tinc-1.0pre3]# rpm -qa | grep gcc gcc-2.95.1-3 gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I.. -I../lib -I../intl -g -O2 -DPKGLIBDIR=/usr/local/lib/tinc -DCONFDIR=\"/usr/local/etc\" -DLOCALEDIR=\"/usr/local/share/locale\" -c protocol.c protocol.c: In function `send_request': protocol.c:77: parse error before `int' make[2]: *** [protocol.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/tinc-1.0pre3/src' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/tinc-1.0pre3' make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2 Help is welcome. --- Kris Buytaert Senior Consultant http://www.be.stone-it.com/ buytaert@be.stone-it.com - Tinc: Discussion list about the tinc VPN daemon Archive: http://mail.nl.linux.org/lists/ Tinc site: http://ftp.nl.linux.org/pub/linux/tinc/

That line is perfectly valid C code. Please try if you can compile, um, say GNU fileutils.
