Now it are two data frames with a time (POSIXct) and a
rainfall/flow part. Maybe time series are easier, but in

X should be a number or a vector. how does this coresponds to a
data and hour (e.g. april 26,2002, 15:00:00)?

London meetup?
Following Luke''s very successful Puppet talk at GLLUG in London, which
was so over-subscribed there were people queueing outside and pressing
their little faces up against the glass, I wonder if the market will
bear a London Puppet meet?
If there are more than two or three people interested it might be worth
arranging something, perhaps a pub session where we can talk about what

22/04/2002 0.2 0.0 0.4

I'd like to plot them in a column plot by day, to be able to
compare them. I made an example in exell, that I attached, but
can't find out how to do it in R. The data vector is a POSIXct.

margins within plotting region
Hi list,
there always seem to be a small margin between the actual plot and the
axes/box around the plot. For instance, in
plot(c(0,1),c(0,1))
the 2 points do not lay on the box around the plot but slightly more to
the center. Which parameter controls this margin and is it possible to
eliminate it?
thanks,
Wouter

Unexplained reboots in DRBD82 + OCFS2 setup
We're trying to setup a dual-primary DRBD environment, with a shared
disk with either OCFS2 or GFS. The environment is a Centos 5.3 with
DRBD82 (but also tried with DRBD83 from testing) .
Setting up a single primary disk and running bonnie++ on it works.

Rsquared in summary(lm)
...squared in the output of summary() is not the same as the
"standard" Rsquared calculated by spreadsheets, and outlined in
statistical guidebooks, being SSR/SSTO. The output says "multiple
Rsquared", but it is no multiple regression...
What's the difference?

Move existing CentOS 4.5 to Xen DomU on CentOS 5
Is there a procedure/howto to follow when moving from existing HW to virtual machine.
I found:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Xen/MoveNative2DomU
but it seems little bit complex for me(but not impossible).
Is there a tool that does the migration (XenOptimizer should do it???)
When searching I find only commercial tools...

Ether bonding with Xen
Hi list
How is ether bonding handled with Xen?
Is it possible to use bonding inside a xen virtual server by bonding dom0s
eth0 and eth1 or should a domU connect to dom0s "bond0" (eth0-eth1)?
Is there any xen configuration examples using bonding somewhere?
Thanks :)

using FAI and XEN?
Is anyone using FAI <http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/> to
install DomU''s?
Our infrastructure is based heavily on using FAI for reproducing
server configs so consolidating servers would go much nicer if if we
could build the DomU''s with FAI.
I''ve not put too much effort into solving my problems yet as I hope
someone else ahs solved them for me :)

change default directory
hello,
maybe a silly question, but how do you set a default directory of
R, i.e. the place where R looks for source() files etc. at startup?
R 1.5.0 on Mandrake linux 8.2
BTW, it seems that my doc-directory is crippled (a lot of files
are lacking). A flaw of the mandrake 8.2-rpm's or a bad install?
thanks!

factor differences in anova
Hello,
(maybe a quite basic statistical question, but I'm just struggling with
it)
I'm doing an anova:
> Res1<-aov(H2O~location+topo+horizon+pF+Error(location:topo:horizon))
(water retention of soils)
which gives a significant difference at factor "location".
Which function should I use to now which locations (there are 3: A, B
and C) differ significantly and which do

FOSDEM: Lodging and presentations
Hi all,
Since it looks like I''ll be attending FOSDEM, I now need to find some
lodging, and if possible I''d like to line up a presentation or four.
Someone in the community offered to let me crash with them if I came
to the conference (someone with the nick of ''robk'' on IRC, I think),
so I''d like to take that person up on it if possible.

daylight saving time problems
...n daylight time) there is no shift at
all.
It seems that it was a feature before that has been badly patched.
I'm using R 1.7.0 on Mandrake Linux in Belgium (CEST?)
It does not occur on my MacOSX box (both Darwin and Carbon version); I
don't now about the windows version.
Thanks,
