I am wondering about almost the exact same thing. I don' know about the
add-brick. I know manual the notes when you list s1,s2,s3,s4 in the create
volume command it will distribute across s1 and s2 then replicate to s3 and
s4. This is the layout I want but currently s1 is replicated to s2. So
what would happen in the process of switching s1 and s2 from rep to dist.
Maybe replace brick s2 with s3 and then add brick s2 and s4? Followed but a
rebalence.
