Hi, Running 5.3-Stable from december, this server has a login delay which I can not really explain. Both ssh and ftp react almost direct, only after entering the passwd the connections sits idle for > 15 secs. So something is is taking a while, and since it is both with ssh and ftp, I would assume it is the actual passwd verification itself. Any suggestions as where to look? Thanx, --WjW

Check your /etc/resolv.conf, /etc/hosts -- WBR, Andrey V. Elsukov

Check your /etc/resolv.conf, /etc/hostsNote quite... Not saying that there could not be a problem, but as far as I can see things are oke there. I would expect ssh and ftp to do a reverse lookup direct after the connect. And I get the login-prompt immediately. Only once the password has been accepted does the large delay comes up. --WjW
