My husband has installed Samba - swat and wants to link all the computers in the house, so "he can back them up daily."? I read the About info on your website, but still have a few questions: 1. I work online, can Samba capture any information (passwords, screen shots, personal information, administrative log on) that might jeopardize my job's security? 2. Can personal emails be tracked and passwords captured? 3. Can live chat be captured? 4. Can personal email addresses be opened using Samba? Thank you, Lucy ?

Can personal email addresses be opened using Samba? If your trust level of your husband is that low, I'd say it's time for a new husband. Samba doesn't do any "data capturing". The only thing you need to worry about is "stored" passwords and data. If he sets this up so your entire local hard disk is copied to the Samba server, then the server will have a copy of everything on your hard drive. This is a smart thing to do actually, having complete backups. Again, if you trust your husband there is no issue with this backup method. If you don't trust your husband, trade him in for husband 2.0 (or 3.0 or whatever the case may be), *or* just don't allow him access to your PC. Period. Again, the far far greater issue here is your level of trust in your husband, not what any piece of technology or software would enable him to do in the spying arena. Hope this advice helps.
