Todd, are you sure that testparm is looking at the same smb.conf file
that you are looking at?
I believe the default configuration is to put smb.conf in the
/usr/local/samba/lib/ path. That could be where testparm is looking and
you could possibly be looking in a more common /etc/samba/ path.
Good test, make an obvious change to your smb.conf, run testparm and
review the results for your change. If you don't find it, that will
confirm that you indeed have two (or more) copies of smb.conf on your
system. The one you are editing and the one that testparm is looking
at.
My 2 cents.

Subject: [Samba] Setting up SMB PDC
Hi
I am still having problems with this. The thing I cant figure out is
that when I run testparm it prints out that my domain logons are No
cat test1|grep domain
allow trusted domains = Yes
domain admin group domain guest group domain logons = No
domain master = Yes
winbind use default domain = No
My smb.conf file says Yes
What could be the problem? I could use any input you folks might have,

Thank you
