HI again! I have attached a small smb.conf that works here for me.
If you cannot do a net view can you at least mount the samba share ? You need to enable logging and then see what it reads. log level = 10 log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m Checking your logs is the next logical step to take to resolve your problem. I would recommend using 'server = domain' and making the Linux box a member of the domain. Refer to section 2.5.2 of the following document. Also, make use of the log files. (usually log.smbd and log.nmbd or simiilar, depends on your configuration) These will give you hints of what the problems are. If you find some errors post those to the list. http://us2.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.htm -- Brian ----- Original Message ----- From: "luiz fernando estivalet" <luizfe@dbserver.com.br> To: "'Brian Whitehead '" <bwhitehd@earthlink.net>; <samba@lists.samba.org> Cc: "luiz fernando estivalet" <luizfe@dbserver.com.br> Sent: Thursday, March 28, 2002 9:12 AM Subject: samba-win2k big problem!!!!!!> > HI again! > I have attached a small smb.conf that works here for me. > From win98 and WinNT a can see the linux client but win2k cannot! > I have already tried the other solutions that you passed to me but itdidnt> work! > > in win2k at dos prompt when I make a net view \\locke it gives me: > > System error 5 has ocurred. > > Acess is denied > > > Please, I need this stuff to be working! > > Thanks, > > Luiz Fernando > >
