samba - Mar 2002 - make error on lastest samba head on solaris head alpha17

solaris 2.8 with latest cluster patch
gcc 3.0.3
gnu ld, as, binutils
compiled alpha15 fine

Now, alpha17 does not compile. I get the below error.  I saw mention of this
kind of error back in 2001, but no answer on how to fix.
