I was having the same issue with certain files, primarily MS Office files
(.xls, .doc, ...). This was supposedly fixed several versions ago, but I am
running 2.2.3a. I was able to eliminate the problem by using the 'veto
oplock files' directive. Try setting this directive in your smb.conf if you
are only having the problem when accessing certain files.
