I have recently had problems with a Win2k machine not being able to map network drives residing on a Samba 2.0.8 server. The error message received on the client side was "Semaphore timeout period has expired" (well, actually it was "Tidsgr?nsen f?r semaforen har uppn?tts" for you Swedish-speakers :-). The client was able to map network drives residing on other Win2k boxes correctly. Further, other Win2k boxes worked fine with the same Samba server. It turned out that deinstalling the Win2k Security Rollup Package solved the problem. I haven't examined the deeper reasons for this problem, though, so I don't know how generic it is. Anyway, I'll stay away for the SRP for a while; it bites me with OpenSSH, too. /Gunnar
