samba - Jan 2002 - SAMBA and Active Directory

Im using winbind to extract all the users, this works, but assoon as I
want to change pam to authenticate using the winbind pam module It
doesn't authenticate, can someone who has done this please send me there
pam login file as well as there pam samba file

Hi,

I was wondering if Samba is currently able to act as a server connected to
Win2000 running Active Directory (native)?
If not, when was a new version having AD support coming out?

Thanks, I will have to get a copy of Samba 3.0. Would you know when it will
be officially released (or stable enough to run in production)?
I suppose I get Samba 3.0 from cvs (sorry I am a newbie to all this).

Smaba 3.0 supports Active Directory using native protocols, and Samba
2.2 supports AD using RPC.  Samba 2.2 is only limited if you do not 
have 'enable permission compatible with pre-windows 2000 computers'
set.  

IN this case, you may need to set a 'user' account for winbind to use.

Hi,

I'm trying to use Samba tools from a Linux box in an environment that runs
XP
machines. 'Nmblookup -M -' doesn't return anything because this
environment
uses Active Directory. So, from the Linux machine, how can I browse that
network and get a list of available shares?
