Sambaserver is not accessible

I have a problem connecting to SAMBA  from Windows/ME systems 
(using samba--2.2.2 on Red hat Linux 7.1)


What I would like to know is - What can I change to get this to work properly?

SETUP
I have a simple network - 
three Windows/ME systems and 1 Red Hat Linux 7.1 system all on the same 
subnet.
There is a linksys router on the same subnet that 
provides WAN connectivity through a cable modem
I have a single workgroup named HOMENET. I am  tring to provide file system 
shares for
the windows/ME systems. 
I do not have a printer connected to my Linux/Samba system
The 3 windows machines share services back and forth 
(printers, file shares) without a problem.

I don't think the firewall is interefering:
Here  is the packet trace - ICMP seems to be coming from my SAMBA Server - 
not from the Linksys router. 
The source MAC address as well as the IP address in the ICMP (frame 3) 
is from the SAMBA Server
Does the netstat output look correct in my first request for help?

Need Help --- Sambaserver is not accessible

I posted a couple of appeals for help a couple of days ago but
I still can't run shared services from my linux system to 
my windows/ME clients. I ran through the diagnostic tests 
and noticed the "couldn't find homes" message in the output.
Could someone tell me what that means? 
Additional info is in my postings from last couple of days.

Running TEST 6 nmblookup  -d 2 '*' from DIAGNOSTICS.txt  gave:

I placed thee path = variable in my homes section. I wasn't sure
what path was required so I put in /home which is a valid directory on
my system (where the accounts are). There was no change in the behavior
of the nmblookup. It still says "lp_servicenumber: couldn't find
homes"
What is the purpose of the path variable? 
I can't find a path variable in any
of the documentation for the homes section. 
Does the lp_ in the message have any thing to do with printing?

path=/home/%U

where %U will be the username provided by the Windows
clients.
you can also try %u to use the UNIX username variable
and adding the line "valid user = %S" to grant access
to the specific user.
