I just want to set up a folder on my Linux 7.2 running samba 2.2.1a-4. I have looked at the smb.conf over and over. Cannot find out why my share is not showing up. I just want users on my domain to browse the network and read the folder. I am on an NT domain and the furthest i got was seeing the workgroup testgrp on my network neighborhood. But when i click on the workgroup i get an access denied msg. I also \\<computername>\<share> and it doesnt work. Could someone look at my config file and see what is missing or what im doing wrong. I think maybe something is missing but when i look at the description it doesnt apply to me. This is pretty streamline so if im missing a comment plz let me know. Trial and error is really getting stale. Any help would be great. I believe you need to have security=share for it to work. -----Original Message----- From: Hiep Nguyen [mailto:HNguyen@varsityspirit.com] Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2001 12:55 PM To: samba@lists.samba.org Subject: can see my workgroup I just want to set up a folder on my Linux 7.2 running samba 2.2.1a-4. > ====================================> > [global] > workgroup = testgrp < Is this the name of your workgroup? You also might need a guest ok = yes statement in global or in a share. Does there exist a real user pcguest on your linux box? Have you gone through DIAGNOSIS.txt in /docs/textdocs in the samba source distribution. Joel
