Win2k-->Linux-->Epson777 (smb.conf + /etc/printcap included)
I don't have a solution, but I do want to keep this thread alive until we get it resolved. I'm in the same situation. I can print fine, but it says that annoying message. Do you guys print to an LPD unix queue? My linux print server is sending the job to a LPD linux box that is connected to the printer local. (Our printer support requires it that way). Has anyone been able to determine anything? Perhaps Microsoft is trying to break samba by changing it's implementation. I wouldn't put it past them... -CB -----Original Message----- From: samba-admin@lists.samba.org [mailto:samba-admin@lists.samba.org] On Behalf Of Bill Schoolcraft Sent: Tuesday, November 20, 2001 8:03 AM To: samba@lists.samba.org Subject: Re: Win2k-->Linux-->Epson777 (smb.conf + /etc/printcap included) At Tue, 20 Nov 2001 it looks like Chris composed:> I'm getting the exact same thing in Windows XP and it's driving mecrazy.> I've tried every conceivable set of config parameters and rebootedcountless> times. I have two queue's on the system too so I can try both. I have rechecked all the users with reissuing their "smbpasswd <user>" etc also. And once again this is an Epson 777 Color Injet that works great while plugged into my lan with a "mini" printserver attached to the rear of the printer with the static IP address of 192.168.1.99 ############################################ # /etc/printcap # # DO NOT EDIT!
