"Access denied" problem with samba 2.0.7 and linux 2.4.3
Hi. I am having a weird problem with Samba 2.0.7 and the linux kernel 2.4.3. I export an FAT32 partition from the linux server, with guest access enabled. All the permissions are correct. With a kernel from the 2.2.X series everything is OK, and my Win98 clients are able to access the share, create/copy/move/delete files. The problem starts when I use a kernel from the 2.4.X series: in that case, with the exact same samba setup, the Win98 clients can read the share, create "small" files on it (small being below 100k), delete files, but they cannot create any file larger than 100k. Windows in that case responds with a "Access denied: make sure the disk is not full or write-protected" error message. Is anybody else having troubles with samba and the linux 2.4.X kernel series? Thanks Luca
